Why I Love Education
I love being a teacher, and I love teaching students and adults. Seeing someone go from having no confidence in a skill or subject to blazing through it is something that moves me. I enjoy a fast-paced environment where I get to interact with students and colleagues on a daily basis. Having an outlet for my passions of integrating technology and STE(A)M subjects is incredible, and I enjoy each day, despite the inevitable stress that comes from the ever-changing landscape of education. The challenges of education in the 21st century are many and varied, and require creativity, research, knowledge, and passion to conquer them.
What Drives Me
My passion for education and student achievement drives me each day, and is why I focus so much on the use of technology. Technology is an amazing force for change and increasing student achievement and engagement in school. The trends of gamification and online collaboration are growing fast, as are all segements of technology software and hardware. Because of this, one must be constantly researching, testing, and reviewing new edtech concepts and programs. This is something I do naturally, being driven by a love for technology and education.
I am also driven by my passion for people and collaboration. Collaborating with others, learning from them and teaching them, is something that makes educationa and schools better, and can be done in a variety of ways.
